We are a small team consisting of one experienced Spanish Translator, myself Ramon, and Magali who is an experienced native Spanish Tutor and Translator. We like to think we can offer the best of both worlds of different Spanish translation services, in the sense that we can provide the customer service and frequent direct communication advantages of directly working with a single translator but also the reassurance that your work will also be thoroughly discussed and proofed as with an agency. We can also, on occasion if required, work individually in-house for a particular company on a temp basis. We provide a thorough English <> Spanish translation service for individuals and businesses no matter how big or small from London and across the Central Belt M4 Corridor to Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff and all over the UK by E-Mail.
Recent projects include a long contract translating a whole website and intranet for a well known blue chip British mail-order / eCommerce client from English to Spanish and aiding with the implementation of the company to Spain as they expand into Europe. This required a broad knowledge of technological and business translation at the top level. We’re currently involved in similar remote online translation and web localization roles including aiding with the implementation of one of the major British betting companies as they move into Europe amongst doing other often confidential work for individuals and companies big and small, from blue-chips to SSBs.
Let me say a little about us both. I am a British national that was born in Britain and have lived here most my life. I lived in, apart from other countries, Buenos Aires for 5 years where I taught English and studied Spanish, as well as acquiring business and graphics agency experience. I speak English and Spanish as my first languages therefore I’m also completely fluent in Spanish to mother tongue level.
As well as translating I'm a part time Graphic Designer therefore I understand amongst other translation jobs, the role regarding providing copy for brochures, manuals and websites, liaising with designers and printers in both English and Spanish and acting as a 'one stop shop' to make sure nothing gets 'lost in translation' between the initial draft and the final printed product for the whole publication process. I possess extensive IT proficiency on PCs and Macs, a fast 60w/m type speed, wide vocabulary and excellent grammar, syntax and style in both languages.
Apart from Graphic Arts and Digital Design I can specialize in Business, Online Marketing, certain Technical Translations, Culinary, IT, International Sports (in which I have particularly strong working experience) and Software related translations.
I'm experienced on all the usual industry standard software and platforms such as Excel, Access, Sage, Outlook, Word etc as well as print and design software such as all the Adobe Creative Suite and Quark which further aides my ability in providing copy to the brochure/manual/magazine designers whilst adhering to strict graphic layout/web templates as well as spotting and offering consultancy on certain design and typesetting issues. This can really save time and resources for certain jobs.
Magali is a an experienced effective native Spanish Teacher as well as a Translator, who studied at the University of Buenos Aires and has been teaching for various years. She has a wide literary knowledge from all over the world as well as all the usual skills you’d associate with an experienced native Spanish teacher such as first class grammar, syntax and vocabulary. She is currently also studying Mandarin and can specialize in Biological, Medicinal, Media, History, Religion, Music, Tourism and Art related translations.
We both feed of each other’s backgrounds, knowledge, cultures and can use each as an 'extra head' to consult on certain areas if necessary. We can also share a higher volume workload for a quicker urgent turnaround if required and always proofread each other’s work. Therefore you could be hiring the capabilities of two Spanish-translating professionals for the price of one.
You may have read something at some point where you can see it is such an obvious translation from another language that it just doesn’t read well, this is sometimes because a client has hired a translator of the wrong target language. In order to provide a completely rounded and thorough freelance translation service it can be requisite to have a native from each country of the languages involved in order to guarantee smooth transactions between the two languages each way. We make particular emphasis on ensuring that our translations have the right transparency and fidelity, which is maintaining ‘flow’ whilst maintaining true to the source.
We have a PC, Powermac, the latest MacBook Pro laptop and most of the industry standard software. We generally work completely remotely for clients all over the UK after receiving the files in almost any format and Email the translated documents back but on occasion we can meet clients for an initial face-to-face meeting and take the work home as required if based around the London, Swindon, Bristol, Cardiff, Central Belt M4 Corridor.
